United States Gift and Accessories Market Product Categories
By The Transparency Center

The market in the United States for gifts and accessories is as diverse as the country and its people. Gifts are usually linked to a special occasion such as a birthday, a wedding, a graduation, an anniversary, the birth of a baby, the purchase of a new home or a major holiday. Of all of holidays, Christmas is the biggest gift-giving time of the year. There are no prescribed gifts for these occasions. Someone may give a very personal item like a piece of jewelry or clothing, or they may give an item for the kitchen, like a set of serving bowls or a wooden cutting board, or even a more decorative item for the home such as a woven basket, a wall hanging, or a candleholder.
