Ecommerce for craft producers

Big World is working with two networks of handicrafts producers in India and Bangladesh to see how producers can be empowered to take advantage of the Internet to sell their goods and support their families and communities.

The two partner organisations are ASHA Handicrafts in India, and HEED Handicrafts in Bangladesh. Together these organisations work with over 5,000 individual crafts producers.

This study, funded by the UK Government Department for International Development (DFID), will consider different ecommerce options, and pilot and evaluate sample business models and applications.

Big World is collaborating with the community development agency Gamos on this project.
