Charity for a digital age: about Big World
Big World is a new specialist UK charity using Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) to meet the information needs of the poor in the so-called Third World.
Founded in 1999, the charity is currently researching how the Internet and new communications technologies can be used to bring tangible benefits to poor people and communities.
Big World works with communities and development organisations to bridge the digital divide, empowering poor people and communities to fight poverty and take advantage of the growing global knowledge economy.
